Cousinfest 2008- Destination 1- Utah!

The big plane trip was ok this year.  I take my kids out earlier and then my husband comes out and joins us later so it's just me traveling with the two of them.  They are finally at an age where it is easy to entertain them for these loooooooooong trips.  First we flew to Portland and about 24 hours later we flew into Salt Lake.  It was beautiful, and HOT!  We had a great time visiting my sister, her husband and her sweet little girl.Our week with them was filled with:

They weren't easy to catch but uncle Gord turned out to be a hard core butterfly hunter.

Oh how we need a place like this in New York City!  It was amazing!  It's ALL ABOUT JUMPING!  It's all about exersize!  It's all about exhausting your children! 

Next adventure!  A local petting zoo. 

Our time there consisted of swimming, ice cream cones, movies, petting zoo, butterfly hunting, Jumping, coloring, and lot's of giggling!  What more could you want from visiting your family.  Thank you Sue & Gord!  We had a great time.  I wish we lived closer to each other so we could take sweet little moments like these for granted:)

Bad Blogger! Bad!

I fell off the face of the earth there for a while.  I cannot believe it's been so long since my last post.  Bad blogger!  Bad bad blogger!  I really do miss blogging.  Instead of beating myself up I will just pick up where I left off.  We had a wonderful time in the Northwest.  It was so nice to see my family and so great to see my kids playing with their cousins.  Not something that we get enough of living across the country.  We spent an amazing week the Oregon Coast (our favorite vacation spot).  We also spent a great week visiting my sister in Utah.  I will be posting some pictures of our trip soon.  I also have a 2nd grader and my little one is in PreK.  This means I get to do all my chores without feeling torn between my kids and the "laundry mountain".  I can blast music if I want.  I can listen to pod-casts while I clean.  Nobody talks to me for about 6 hours a day (unless I allow them to).  It's really kinda nice!  I do miss my little one.  It's been an adjustment for both of us.  She was fine the first week of school but the tears came the second week.  I think she realized that this is a long day and she is with her mom less.  The other day she asked me  "will you sit on the steps at the school and wait for me?"  The sick part of it is I probably would if it was allowed.  She is so sweet. I am still in shock that she is already four!  I really do miss her when she's at school.  No I don't.  Yes I do.  No I don't.  Yes I do.  My big second grader is loving school.  I am thrilled with her teacher.  She only has 16 kids in her class (that's considered small here) which is great for her.    Well,  I have some exciting news to share (soon) and a scary dramatic story to share (soon).  I also learned how to embroider (my mommy taught me) while I was there this summer.  A new addiction!  I'm afraid this post is getting too long.  Listen to me blathering on and on.  And a post with no pictures.  How boring does it get!
