Before it turns into brown Brooklyn slosh that is.  As long as I don't have to go anywhere it's great!  These photos were taken early...while it's still pretty.

Things have been pretty gloomy at our house lately.  At least one of us has been sick pretty much since Christmas.  We just keep catching things and passing them around.  I am going to have my baby one week from today.  So far, she doesn't even have a cradle to sleep in.  I have been so busy taking care of everyone else.  The other night I insisted on buying a car seat so we can at least get her home from the hospital.  We were not crazy about any of them but I freaked out and insisted.  My husband didn't understand why I didn't just keep looking and I told him "I have to get it NOW because you never know who will get sick next!"  We got the car seat and sure enough  I had the stomach flu the next morning.  Not fun when your about to give birth.  Cross your fingers that my little girl will come home to a "healthy" family.  Cross your fingers that I can relax and get some rest.

Carmen To The Rescue!

I love my apartment!  It's one of those quirky old Brooklyn apartments with lot's of old Brooklyn charm.  It has creaky old floors from 1875, a long hallway with lot's of little rooms.  It has origonal mouldings.  We are on the top floor so there is lot's of sunlight pouring in the windows.  I love this house but I HATE CLEANING IT.  Don't get me wrong.  I don't hate all house work.  Some of it I actually like.  For instance, when it comes to laundry, I seriously ROCK! Last year my sweet husband decided that he couldn't take listening to me complan any longer.  He knew what he had to do.  For mothers day he decided to introduce a housekeeper to our relationship.  The moment he mentioned it I got on the phone with my friend Joe (you never know when he is going to change his mind with these things so I knew I had to act fast).  I remembered her saying that she had "the kind of women who cleans your oven and trash cans".  I got her number and made the first appointment.  I have to say after I got off the phone with her I had an extra skip in my walk the rest of the day. It's amazing what the idea of some help can do for a mom.  I loved Carmen from the moment I saw her.  I don't just mean I loved her I mean I LOVED HER!  I showed her the cleaning products and she got started right away.  I decided to take my little girl to the park for the morning.  After picking up my older daughter from school and doing some grocery shopping we headed home.  I carried all the groceries up to the third floor while coaxing a goofy three year old it was not the right time to break out into tunes from "The Sound Of Music"("The sun has gone to bed and so must I).  When I finally pushed my exhausted body through the door that's when I smelled it!  My clean house!  That I didn't clean!   I quickly checked my garbage cans!  Joe is an honest women.  I ran to the oven!  She even scrubbed my refridgerator and shower curtian!  Oh sweet mystery of life at last I've found you!  I went in and sat down on my sparkling clean kitchen floor and spent about fifteen minutes staring into space...in a good way!
